AvatarOn vs Vivace E vs Pieno: Which Schneider Switch Range Should You Choose?

All five Schneider Electric wiring ranges are genuine and built to the same safety standards. They differ in looks, colour options, special features and price. Here is how to choose the right one for your home, office or hotel.

The quick answer

  • Want a modern dark look? Choose AvatarOn. It is the only range in Dark Grey.
  • Want a metallic finish? Choose Pieno, in Wine Gold or Aluminium Silver.
  • Need USB charging or hotel controls in white? Choose Vivace E.
  • Want reliable white switches at the best price? Choose Vivace or S-Classic.

AvatarOn: slim, modern, two colours

AvatarOn has a slim profile and a soft matte finish in White or Dark Grey. Dark Grey suits modern interiors, wood panelling and dark walls. The range includes USB A+C sockets, fan dimmers, shaver sockets and a full set of hotel controls: key card switches, DND and PCU panels and bell indicators.

Best for: premium homes, apartments, offices and hotel rooms where the switches are part of the design.

Pieno: metallic finishes

Pieno comes in White, Wine Gold and Aluminium Silver. The metallic finishes stand out in living rooms, lounges and reception areas. It covers switches, neon indicator sockets, Schuko and international sockets, and fan speed controllers.

Best for: homes where you want the switches to look premium without going dark.

Vivace E: the widest white range

Vivace E has the most products: 16AX switches in 1 to 4 gangs, 1-way and 2-way, sockets with USB A+C charging, a standalone 21W USB charger, a door chime, a PIR night foot light, key card switches and hotel DND/PCU switches.

Best for: apartments, offices and hotels that want white switches with modern features at a sensible price.

Vivace and S-Classic: everyday value

Both are clean white ranges for everyday wiring. Vivace offers 16AX switches, dimmers and fan controllers. S-Classic is the classic Schneider design and the most affordable option, with 10AX switches from Rs 600 list price.

Best for: rental properties, large housing projects and anywhere value matters most.

What does 16AX or 10AX mean?

The number is the current rating in amps. The X means the switch is also rated for inductive and fluorescent or LED lighting loads, which are harder on a switch than simple resistive loads. A 16AX switch handles 16 A on these loads, so it has more headroom than a 10AX switch. For most homes both are fine for lighting. 16AX gives extra margin for long lighting circuits and fan loads.
