Counterfeit electrical products are a real problem in Pakistan. A fake switch or socket may look similar, but it can overheat, spark or fail early, and that is a fire risk in your home or building. Here is how to make sure the Schneider Electric products you buy are genuine.
1. Buy from an authorised channel partner
This is the single most reliable step. Authorised partners buy directly through Schneider Electric's official channel, so the stock is genuine and comes with a valid warranty. HYDZ Traders is a Schneider Electric Authorised Channel Partner in Pakistan.
2. Check the catalogue number
Every genuine Schneider product has a catalogue number, for example E8331L1_WE for an AvatarOn 1 gang switch in White. It appears on the packaging and on our product pages. If a seller cannot tell you the catalogue number, or it does not match Schneider's official range, be cautious.
3. Be wary of prices far below list
Discounts happen, but a price far below the official list price is a common warning sign. Compare with our 2026 Schneider price list.
4. Inspect the packaging
Genuine products come in clean, properly printed Schneider Electric packaging with the product name and catalogue number. Blurry printing, spelling mistakes, missing details or damaged and resealed boxes are red flags.
5. Check the build quality
- The finish should be even, with no rough edges or uneven colour.
- The switch action should feel firm and consistent, not loose or scratchy.
- Markings and ratings on the product should be sharp and clear.
- Terminals and screws should be solid, not flimsy.
6. Always get an invoice and warranty
A proper invoice protects you and is needed for warranty claims. All products from HYDZ Traders carry a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
